Yoga has been proven to have some incredible benefits for our overall health and wellbeing, here are a few of my favourites:

  • Reduced stress and anxiety - stimulating the vagus nerve in breathing techniques reduces stress hormones and releases feel good hormones to calm the nervous system

  • Balance poses have been proven to reduce the risk of developing dementia as well as strengthen joints and reduce the risk of falls

  • Yoga pairs well with other sports - improving performance and protecting from injury

  • Improved mindfulness, self awareness and confidence boosting

  • Improved respiratory system, cardio health and digestion

  • Reduced inflammation (long-term inflammation underlies many serious diseases)

  • Counteracting the affects of habits such as sitting at a desk for long periods of time

  • Weight bearing exercises increase bone density and reduce the risk of fracture as we get older (we start to lose bone density from the age of 35!)
